movin up
I think you would have little trouble selling a machine like that, I am in a jeep club and we have a lot of serious guys and they all have one of those they use on the motorhome gen to repair trail damage so the weekend is not ruined, I have bought and sold at least eight of that exact model in the club and to the desert guys to maintain their buggies on site. I hope these hints give you a few ideas on how to market it so you can move up

Bernie, I feel your pain. A local dealer, Mitrowski, is the same way. They have high prices on used units and give bottom $$ on your equipment. They have to make a profit and they usually have to prep the equipment to be sure they can honor their warranty, but you are better off in most cases selling it yourself and negotiating a better cash deal.

Like others have said a machine like that would not be hard to sell. I sold my lil welder when I traded up without even trying. You might want to think about keeping it for the really light gauge stuff and get a bigger one for heavy duty work. You can never have too many welders.Art is dangerous!

You are missing the point.. I know I can sell the unit myself..DUH!
The point being. You nab the in-experienced/beginner welder with your product. As his skills advance and he outgrows the capabilities of the machine; The COMPANY provides a decent trade-in credit towards the purchase of a larger more capable machine. Thereby increasing brand loyalty. I sell my HH135 locally, You have no idea/control of what I get next. I may go ESAB, Lincoln whereever I find the better deal. With a trade in program, you can a pool of refurbed units to donate to trade schools (Tax-Writeoff) and you SELL more units. My politically correct no advertising/no ethnicity bashing/no shoving my religious(or lack thereof) beliefs down your throat moderator approved signature. My "local" disributors, all at least 45 miles away; could care less about the home hobbyist welder. For Instance: I needed new tips for the TD Drag-gun. Called Local distributor, "yep we have them in stock"!. Drive over, OOPS!!!! Computer sez we have them, but we have none on the shelf. They said Columbia SC has them, we can take your money and ship them to you. You will have them in 2 days. OK, I bite. A week goes by, I finally get the Tips and they sent the wrong ones. I call them up..OOPS We are sorry, another week goes by, I call and ask status. UHMMMM, Finally 2 days after that they come in.
The other "Distributor" bad mouths other manufacturers units, will not demo and has a generally poor attitude.
What is so hard about maintaining an inventory?
Guess who I won't trouble about taking my money?

I know that feeling, you get to them and then the parts cant be found. I have had the same problem with plasma parts, I like to buy complete sets, so all of the wear parts are changed at the same time, and I can never get them all at ounce.
Back ordered or not in stock, 12 of one and 2 of the other parts.
If its not one of their in house parts, you are in trouble.
good luck
