I can get a brand new Weldmark 225 for $2100 Which is the same machine as a Ranger8. How and why do they do this? Its the same machine but one is cheaper, Talk about buying the name...
-Jeff
That company makes many different models of the same welder with different model numbers. The welders all seem the same at first glance but close reading of specifications for each package show minor differences. But your talking about different brand names on what looks like same welder. The difference then could be different levels warrenty support and profit margin or something else your not aware.
If you must know the difference call, e-mail or write the companies and ask about the difference between the 2 welders.
I would believe a salesman about like I would believe Military Recruiter unless I see it myself, have it in writing or 2nd source what they say might be true.
This is because I have worked with both.
Tunsten,if you ever put it up for sale, what catches your eye?Miller Bobcat,Lincoln ranger 8 or Weldmark whatever?I wonder which ones hold their value, and sells the fastest?I bet its not the last one, even if it's exactly alike.Just something else to think about.
I see your point on resale... But I plan on keeping it for awhile. I really am short on the cash flow so any little bit helps. They also have a used Ranger8 with 1,800 hours on it. The repair shop is going though the whole thing I guess, and he wants $1,400 for that with out leads. That just seems like a lot of hours. I looked at the Lincoln add and the weldmark add and the text for both go together word for word, so they are the same machine.
