If your welder is like my old hobart, only dc is available for tools, and only 115 volt.
3500 watts seems abit high, mine only has around 1000 watts, will run a grinder, but not my chop saw.
On mine, I have to turn the fine current control all the way up to get enough power for tools.
An easy fix for this would be to get an inverter, connect it to the starting battery, and run any tools that need a.c.(like variable speed drills) from the inverter.Sam's and BJ's clubs have the best inverter prices.work safe, always wear your safety glasses.

HI BARTH.............WELL YOUR MACHINE WAS SOLD ON 08-14-1964 AND THE SPECIFICATION NUMBER IS 3664A. IF A MANUAL IS AVAILABLE IT WILL BE THRU ELLEN AT 920-735-4197 OR BUFFALO WELDING SUPPLY AT 716-875-3472 AND YOU CAN TALK TO AMANDA AT THAT NUMBER AND TELL HER THANKS FOR THE HAT......................... IN ALL HONESTY I DO NOT RECALL IF IT IS AC/DC.........BUT AS A GUESS I'M GOING TO SAY DC HAVE YOU TRIED TO MEASURE IT...........?............. I THINK 3500 WATTS IS BEING VERY OPTOMISTIC...........I THINK ED MAY BE MORE CORRECT BUT I DON'T RECALL FOR SURE.............A MANUAL WILL TELL EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW AND WILL PROVIDE A SCHEMATIC.....................HAVE SOME FUN NOW WITH YOUR SEARCH.............................ROCK........... .............
