  • Miller xmt 300 cc/cv questions

    I have an opportunity to pick up an xmt 300 , used in good condition. Is there anybody familier with these ?
    I'd like to know if there are any common problems associated with this machine.

    Here is a link from Brad at the google site,he is the one guy over there to ask about machines.Also I have over heard from my friend at the welding store, talking to a owner of one those machines.He said he had board problems,because of metal getting inside on the board,where the later ones have solved that problem.Also they did not like power surges real well.Maybe ask Brad over at this site what he thinks.He is straight forward with a very detailed answers.Plus he likes the machines I do.

      I have the xmt 304 cc/cv. I consider it the best machine I own out of nearly 20 machines. I have never used an xmt 300, is it an older model or do you have the number wrong??

        Dear Ed;

        The XMT 300 was built from approximately 1989 through 1996 and replaced by the XMT 304. It should be a 230/460 vac unit with Auto-Link. The problems that were seen with the unit were issues with the Auto-Link circuit and also IGBT failures. If you can provide a serial number I may be able to provide what vintage you have. Also if you are going to be running strictly on one primary voltage you may be able to hard link the unit to that voltage.[email protected]
