  • Power a mig machine with a Champion 10000?

Is it possible to supply power to a Handler 175 or 135 mig machine with a Champion 10000 Welder/generator? The idea was suggested by one of my co-workers and we were wondering if it was possible.

You,could hook up two 135s and be fine, and maybe even two 175 also. The last one is a guess but probally true.I could probally hook up two 175 lincolns to my ranger 10,000 watt engine drive.maybe not at full welding output but close.I only have one to try though.

I run my Lincoln SP175+ off my Ranger 250(9000 watt) all the time, you will trip the breaker on your wire feed long before you could ever stop a generator that big!

STOMPER74..................WELCOME ABOARD...............YES IT IS POSSABLE, AND YES I'VE RUN ONE OFF OF A 90000 WATT GENERATOR BEFORE WITH GOOD SUCESS..............THESE LITTLE UNITS WERE PRIMARILY DESIGNED TO BE USED INSDOORS (HANDLERS) BUT I HAVE SEEN THEM OUTSIDE AS WELL........ JUST REMEMBER TO THINK SAFETY HERE, DON'T SET THE MIGS IN WATER, DON'T WELD IN WATER, DON'T SET ON MIG MACHINE, WELL YOU GET THE SAFETY CONCERS HERE RIGHT..............BE SAFE NOW.........................................ROCK

Thanks for the input. I'm going to pick up the Champion 10000 tomorrow morning. I just stumbled into this website last night and have already picked up several valuable tips. Thanks Again.
