  • MM210 question?

I just bought a MM210 to replace a brand new HH135 and I only have one problem. I am sure it is something I am doing.

I pull the trigger sometime and the wire arcs and breaks off right at the end of the tip and sticks to it. It will cool a second and pop out and you can continue on welding. Doesn't do it all the time. It is aggrevating though.

    Any ideas, all you experts???

    I run .030 wire and a .035 tip.

First off,run a .030 tip with .030 wire, then check back if you still have a problem.

I will put the right tip in. I thought maybe I had too much stick out.

            MM210

            Todd,
Here are a couple things that come to mind that could cause what you are seeing. First off put a .030 contact tip in the gun, an oversized tip can cause poor current transfer to the welding wire (poor current transfer= burnbacks). Make sure the drive rolls are set for the correct wire size, the drive rolls supplied with the MM210 are .030 on 1 side and .035 on the other side also check the spool brake tension (the large black nut that holds the spool hub on) slippage = burnbacks. If you are still having trouble please give us a call (920)831-4898
