I am considering my first welder and am interested in an AC/DC TIG unit. I am considering the Miller Syncrowave 180 SD or the Lincoln Squarewave 175 as my first two choices. I have been intrigued by the advertised benefits of inverter units but I'm pretty stupid about electronics. I am also considering the ESAB Heliarc 161 and the Lincoln INVERTEC 205. I would greatly appreciate your input on inverters in general and the quality of the ESAB units as it seems like the best mix of price and performance but eneryone I know is either Miller or Lincoln faithful and won't give meaningful feedback on the ESAB.
