    Hobart made plenty of those machines for the military, and they do power real nice off the PTO of a jeep. Be ready to hit the bid hard cause there is a guy on the powerwagon board hot for that machine too, and he lives 40 miles from where the machine is sitting.
    It sure beats he!! out of the underhood "welder" made by that fancy outfit that provides the 10 foot remote control stinger so you can pockmark the paint on your truck and windshield.

      since everything that is going to fall of my 66 Dodge D200 already has. I think I will let the w series guys have that welder.

        I noticed its flat belt pully that would be great match for old 2 cylinder Pre WW2 John Deer tractor.

            SPECIFICATION 830 IS PRETTY OLD GUYS.................HOBARTS SOLD TWO TYPES THE TYPE ON THE LINK TO RUN OFF OF TRACTOR'S............. .........AND THE TYPE TO RUN OFF OF A BELT SYSTEM THIS HAD 7 SEPERATE BELTS ON IT............THEORY WAS IF ONE OR 2 SINGLE BELTS BROKE THE UNIT WOULD STILL RUN........ MY BROTHERS AND I GIVE ONE OF THOSE OLD GIRLS AWAY NOT TO LONG AGO WE GOT AT AN AUCTION........... OLD RETIRED GUY WITH A SAW MILL AND A DOZER......... YOU WOULD OF THOUGHT WE GIVE HIM THE KEY TO A GOLD MINE.......... ...............HE WAS A HAPPY CAMPER........... WE USED A BACK HOE TO UNLOAD IT SHE WAS BOLTED TO A 1" SQUARE PLATE.............GOT IT OUT OF A SHIPPING YARD........AND IT WORKED..................... ....................WE HAD SOME FUN THERE.............ROCK........[email protected]

                IN 1995-1996 HOBARTS WAS EXPERIMENTING WITH THIS UNIT AND HAD SOME INTO PRODUCTION...........HOWEVER WHEN ITW PURCHASED HOBARTS FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION REQUIRED ITW TO SELL OF 70% OF HOBARTS WELDING BUSINESS........THIS WAS ONE OF THE UNITS THAT WENT TO THERMAL ARC AS I RECALL........ I TOOK A QUICK LOOK ON THEIR SITE AND UNLESS I OVER LOOKED IT I DIDN'T SEE IT THERE ANYMORE............................?........
