    Rocky D I dont go through that many consumables except shield tips. Right now the machine is not cutting well at all I think it mabe the ground cable but i do Know only drag the torch and get a good lead for minimal slag...JPC

    JPC, I have a Specturm Thunder also, which I use for expanded metal mostly. I did a little crude artwork with it too, but my question, is do you go through the comsumables rather fast? I mean I do 15 or 20 feet and the arc shoots out to the side. Could it be my technique? What do you think?

    The larger sized wire will not cause a problem with the machine and screw up your warranty.
