  • Grill handle?

Does anybody know hwere I can find a handle to put on my grill? I am looking for a spring like what goes on a chipping hammer. I need the inside diameter to be 1/2".

Make one! Wrap a rod around something that will give you that diameter.

Todd, look at a barbeque grill supplier. The sporting goods store I work for has a tool to lift the lid off a pot that has the spring handle.

i agree with rocky it is fairly easy to make something like that just clamp or tack one end of the rod to a peice of tubing or something and just wrap it around. No heat though or you will run into problems. If the rod is a little stiff give it some encouragement with a hammer. Then once you have it all wrapped up, take a torch to it and heat it up till red then dip it in water. That way it will stay right where you got it. Then take your new spring and heat and bend the ends in so you have a place to weldo your centre peice to. A couple vise grips make it alot easier.

But like rock said if you need a new chipping hammer that is a good idea to.

How are you going to put the spring handle onto the lid?

Try a good restaurant supply store, they usually have all sorts of those type handles an/or parts.

I was going to put the handle on a piece of 1/2" rod.

                I like the wrapping idea.

I sure am glad I found this site!!!

You can find those handles at www.tejassmokers.com. They are about $16.00 apiece. Come to think of it the chipping hammer or wrapping your own might be the way to go............

Todd, it would seem to me that once the cooker got hot, so would the handle.....but I'm sure you already considered that,

Rocky, they get hot, but the coil design keeps them cooler than a solid handle.

I like using oak for a handle, put a bolt thru it and attach to metal standoffs. Won't get hot at all.
It's not an optical illusion...it just looks like one

I agree that is why I used the hikory baseball bat . It was smakker than even a t ball bat I guess it was a souvenier or a toy.
