  • Parts for old Hobart tig?

    Hey everyone,
New guy here. I just bought a ~30 year old Hobart Tig welder. 300 Amp AC/DC with high frequency. I'm not quite sure of the model yet, I'm picking it up today. My question is regarding replacement parts for it- can I get spare parts for an old machine if I ever have a problem? Maybe these things never have problems? I'm new to tig welding equipment and the tig process.
    Thanks!
    Mike

This was a great Tig welder in its time but being 30 years old I am afraid you are going to have some problems with spare parts. This had a programable controler in it that used relays and some solid state timer contrils for post flow and pre flow times. You should be able to get the relays but the timers will be the problem.
Just hope things work good and you wont have to worry about broken parts.
    Have fun

Wuz wonderin if this one came out of Ohio? Parts are not that big of a deal, any Industrial Electrican should be able to upgrade electomechanical components and/or R and R circuit boards.
        Good luck.
