I haven't welded with one,but my friend at the welding store has.Rock after you asked what was wrong with the 160,I went, and asked again. He told me that, the one that came in didn't have a gun,so they put on something they had in the shop.He thinks it was a 12 foot gun,and maybe even a 15 foot one.Anyway the thing comes with a ten foot gun for good reason. Its drive roll setup just is not good enough for a longer gun,a non driven two roll setup.
Anyway he just didn't like the arc,and wasn't quite sure if the drive rolls were slipping. He said he has sold about four of them, and has not got any good feedback from anybody that has bought one.He is not selling them at this time.He also talked to the esab rep about the 160,and the new 210.The rep said those two import machines Esab is really trying to not sell them until they get them fixed.I guess the 210 is a real pile.Kind of like their other big welding machine mistake the Esab 251 migmaster they canceled after one year. The Esab rep out here is a good welder also, not just a salesman.
That brings me to my last welding piece of equiptment,a demo model mobilemaster 4 roll wire feeder.I was looking at ebay for a ln25,or miller style voltage sensing feeder, and could not find any that wasn't over priced. The Esab rep had a almost new demo mobilemaster with a three hundred amp benard gun on it.The mobile master is nicer than I though it was.It has a auto sensing cc/cv capabilty, just hook up,and go.This one has the built in contactor also, and a warranty. The price of it was $ 690.00,and I just solds my Ln9 gma, that I have no use for.The price $700 dollars at the same welding store I bought the Esab.Anway I thought I bring that up,because you told me how good a deal a 3045 fc feeder is.The 3045 is a good idea just not for me.
This is the reason I buy,and sell at the welding store over some great deals on the internet. It's called support, and I am going to need it when I take my 300 powermig to get the .023 wire setup working. It's their problem not mine.
