    Pulsed TIG has a Peak and background current setting. "on time" (the length of time the peak current is engaged) "Off time' (length of time the background current is engaged)and all are adjustable....the peak is where welding occurs, and the background keeps the arc going and allows the weld metal to cool. Great for out of position aluminum and titanium welding. The ripples come out evenly spaced if you pace yourself accordingly

    pulsed tig is basically just the arc pusing on and off, so it is not a continious flow of electricity. It happens real quick. It is used for thin metals where you don't want as much heat to the workpeice to control distortion.
