aluminum rods

I've tried stick welding on aluminum before with limited sucess. Kinda like welding with a night crawler. Anyone else ever tried it? Any tips (ok, the obvious one here would be to go MIG / TIG) that can get the stick welder into the zone when the other processes are not available options? Thanks, Jim

Jim, run this rod hot, use only stringer beads using a drag technique and have a grinder handy.
