  • welding on tire rim

one of the rims on my hay rake has a couple pin holes in it and the tire keep going down. so, i removed the tire and cleaned the rim with wirebrush and sandblaster and found the holes. how do i go about welding the holes shut?. the rim is old and the metal is thin where the holes are so i am not sure exactly how to do this so the tire will fit correctly. finding another rim is next to impossible so i need to fix this one. any ideas?

My farmer friends say, put a tube in it!

    Sounds good to me.
It's not an optical illusion...it just looks like one

Normally a good fix would be to patch, either inside or outside, with a patch that reaches good solid weldable metal. Then, like Al says: put a tube in it.
