    Hey, I just bought a HH175.

I didn't know that I would need to replace the liner to use 0.045 wire.

This is good info. THanks for posting.

    .045" wire in .023"-.035" liner

    Rock

Well I just had to try it. Got this roll of .045" wire and I was getting anxious to give it a try ya know. It feeds freely until it gets almost to the contact tip adapter and then stalls. Tried it a couple of times and it stalled about the same spot. I had marked the wire and chamfered the end of the wire but no luck. I also had pushed a length of wire backwards into the liner and it seemed to go in freely by hand. Guess we will just have to wait till the proper parts arrive. Thanks again Rock for the advice.

BITTERNUT.......... WELL UNLESS THEY INSTALLED A.045 LINER BY MISTAKE IN THE GUN AT THE GUN MANUFACTURERS, I DOUBT YOU WILL LIKE THE PERFORMANCE. HOWEVER IF IT IS .045 THEN I DOUBT YOU WILL LIKE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE .023 WIRE IN THE .045 LINER......... WILL CORK SCREW AND HANG UP...... HOWEVER TO TRY IT IN A PINCH GIVE IT A SHOT...... THE MOST THAT WILL HAPPEN IS THE WIRE WILL HANG UP IN THE LINER AND BURN BACK TO THE TIP.............THIS WILL CAUSE A BIRD NEST AFTER THE DRIVE ROLLS AND ABOUT 1/2 HOUR TO STRAIGHTEN OUT.........YOUR CALL, IT'S YOUR TIME..........ROCK

    .045 wire in .023-.035 liner

I have a HH175 with the standard H10 gun and liner. I tried pushing a sample of .045" fluxcore wire into the liner and it seemed to push through OK. My question is could I just install a .045" contact tip and use the standard gun and liner with .045" wire? Anybody ever try this?
