  • Wire Speed Control Not Working Correctly

I have a Hobart Handler 135, and suddenly one day the wire speed selector stopped working right. I cant make it go slow anymore. The dial turns fine, but it doesnt start to adjust the speed until you get about 3/4's of the way to the max. I got a new potentiometer, part #194 513. But that hasnt changed anything. Has anyone else had this problem. Im not sure what else to do, but it sucks having only top end adjustment and not being able to make it go slow enough to do thin stuff.

Didn't an official Hobart representative already respond to you in another board with a phone number to call and to tell you what the problem likely was?

Edit: I can't find it, though...

Sorry to revive such an old post but I'm experiencing the exact problem. The link above to the other thread is dead. Did someone have a fix for this? Thanks for any help

I'd recommend giving Hobart a call at (800) 626-9420, they'll be able to walk through troubleshooting steps with you.
