  • Alu ?

Question, has anybody tried to weld 1/8" Alu with a HH135 using C25? Then, if I need to use 100% argon, can I use my C25 regulator & gauges on a argon 20cu bottle? I guess what I am asking [in addition to the first question] is, are the threads and regulators the same for C25 and 100% argon? I don't want to get a whole lot of money tied up into this as I just want to see if I can do it if I need to! PS..Does this qualify as a dumb question ?
    Regards, George

C-25 regulator will work but C-25 will not,you gotta use argon, other than that,it is possible to use that machine although it's not the method of choice.Good luck

1.) Al mig welding requires Argon.
2.) You didn't say what you are using as a C25 regulator--so here's an answer based on guessing what you have. Yes, argon and argon blends use a CG580 regulator inlet. So the C25 reg should work for Argon.
3.) You will need a teflon liner, larger tip, and of course a roll of AL wire. Practice welding with a faster travel speed.
4.) If in doubt, use the search engine on the website. You will probably get a quicker answer. Here, I'll do it for you---aluminum---->
      "welding aluminum with handler 135".
      Lots of discussion.
5.) You will be at the limit of your machine from an amperage perspective.
6.) No this is not a dumb question, but try the search engine next time. There are a lot of people with 'baby migs' here, so it has probably been asked before.

Thanks All, Rock this would all be so much easier if my wife would buy me a 210 for Fathers Day...I've been sorta good

            Sundown,

Actually I don't think it would be easier.
The same type of things needed for the HH135 are also used by the MM210--liner,tips,argon,filler metal, practice. The part numbers are different, but the same types of parts are needed.
