  • Weld-Thru Coating

Does anyone know if/where you can buy 3M Weld-Thru coating? I have seen it in some of my automobile books but haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere. My local welding supply store (BOC Gases) doesn't know what I'm talking about, and I can't find it on the web.

The thing I want it for is to add rust resistance to welds that are on the underside of a vehicle.

    Thanks,

    Barry

you should be able to get it at a local body shop. I think the stuff we use at our shop is zinc weld through primer. it makes for horrible welds, causes a lot of spatter and makes it very difficult to keep a consitant arc.
