Two things...

I got a little anxious and I started to fill the trim holes in my trucks fenders. There are three holes per fender and they are probably about an inch wide each.

I took out the tin snips and cut out little squares and tacked them in from the backside. Then I went to the front and did my best to work around in a circle to fill the void left by the thickness of the fender...is this a real bad idea (using wire to fill small voids)?

Can anyone tell me what I will need to do to set my HH125 up for using gas? Will this involve changing rollers, or guns...and one more thing, for parts (contact tips) I don't see the HH125 listed very often, is there a compatible model?

#1 Sounds like a plan.#2 ROCK would have to confirm thisd, but I'm not sure if a gas kit is available for the 125. Check your owner's manual or click on owner's manuals at the top of this page.

The HH 125 H-9 gun uses the same contact tip, nozzle, and contact tip adapter as a HH 135 or HH 175. So when looking for these consumable all you really need to look for is consumables for an H-10 gun. Actually since the Miller M-10, which is used on the MM 135 and MM 175, is the same gun as the H-10 with just a different electrical connect you can also use the consumable for the M-10 too on your H-9 gun.


To convert the machine over to gas you need to purchase the gas conversion kit for the machine. This should consists of a solenoid valve, regulator, and supply hose. 2lbs roll of .023 E70S-6 solid wire, and a few .023 contact tips. You will have to take the cover off the machine to install the solenoid valve. The kit should come with instructions on how to install this valve. Don t worry, it is a very simple task. The machine likes .023 solid wire a lot better then an .030 solid wire. So, I suggest using the .023 wire. The drive roll that came with the machine has a groove on it for the .023 wire. To run the .023 wire on the machine you need make sure that the drive roll is set up for the .023 wire. How to do this is explained in your owners manual.

One thing that everyone forgets when canging from Flux wire to solid wire is Make sure you change the polarity of the welder. If you dont it will give you very cold welds and it will not bond well. This is pointed out in the manual and on the door chart.
