  • Helmets

OK, so I aint got no money (sounds vaguely familier, as in a song?) but I sure would like one of those new patriotic Hobart helmets. So being poor, I came up with a Poor-Mans solution. I bought some of that new Krylon Fusion paint just for plastics. Cleaned up my helmet, painted a white base coat, then stuck a bunch of stickers on it from a craft store. Put some masking tape down for stripes, some red paint, covered up the red paint with more masking tape, then painted the entire helmet blue. After 7 hours drying time, revoved the stickers and masking tape, Viola! A Hobert wannabe! Total cost, about $20.00 and one full day of waiting for paint to dry.

From 50 feet away, it looks like one of them new superhelmets.
I'm still using a filthy blue one with a gold lense, and another one that's 40 years old with a flipup gold lense.
