welding nickel/silver

I work for a custom grating company, we primarily use aluminum and bronze for our products {mig welded] but are thinking of using nickel/silver for marine use. Can this be mig welded? If so, how would you do it. Any info would be appreciated.

I know nickel silver can be silver brazed, but I would have to know the AMS # or other to identify the alloy. then I could give you a procedure.

I dont know what type of grating you make. But if I were you I would suggest S.S. for marine applications. That way you will still be able mig or stick it. Rocky D is right going to silver you will need to braze it and it is not very cheap even for 5%...JPC

it might be possible to get some info from wallcolmonoy. they do a lot with those metals and their alloys.
