Got the T/A 185TSW and pleased with the unit. Easy to scroll thru the parameters and to make changes. Saw in a Miller book to not ball the tungsten with advanced squarewave so tried it with a .040 on some .050 Al. Turned out poorly with arc wander and burn thru etc. The tungsten balled itself which is suppose to be a sign of too much current. Used 1 amp per each .001 in of material as a reference. Wondering what the relationship was between peak current in pulse with ac freq and pulse freq-width? Also backgroud current. I understand that increasing ac freq narrows the arc with more penetration but not sure of the others and how much to change the peak current. Stupidity shows, don't it?
