I am in the prosess of together a home shop and i would like to know what type of welder should i get. I will mostly be welding pipes and sheet metal. Witch would penetrate best MIG, TIG, or stick welders????? anything helps

Maybe just,

Get all three in one machine.It might be more than you want to spend,but it really is a great machine.Pulse mig with a $200.00 add on.Also inductance is another add on,but makes the machine really shine.

That way you could find out the answer to your question for yourself.

This is the older version of the machine,the black face ones are the ones that can be upgraded to pulse mig.

Scott, have you tested the Multimaster 260? I'd be interested in your thoughts on it. I have read your past posts...but I thought I'd just ask again.

That one I haven't welded with.I was getting the info from my friend at the welding store.We both seem to have the same taste in machines.He has welded with it,and told me without the inductance it pretty nice,and when you add the inductance it welds the same as the 250 migmaster with mild steel.But alot better with stainless,and aluminum with the pulse,and spoolgun setup.He told me it sprays real nice.He did not like the mig gun though.He kind of likes the MT200 gun on the older migmaster,because they are tough as nails.I don't care for the trigger on the MT200 myself.He told me all the welders that buy that machine love the way the tig,and stick work.The thing I like about my friend is he tells it like it is.When somebody asked him about a machine,he will tell them once,and then if they don't listen,he just shows them the one they want,and drops the subject.That's totally different from my personality,I kind of like to beat the subject to death,and probally the guy that is not listening.He has been right on all the machines I have bought from him.He gets a whole lot of feedback from their one tech guy that is really up on all machines.What I like about pat the tech is he will help you rig up a goofy setup,only I could come up with.Rocky D if you want to find out some info on any machine,e-mail me and I will give you his phone number,and e-mail address.He is a straight shooter.In fact I wish he would quit telling me what is really cool.It keeps me broke!I need to quit going in there.The last one he showed me had this feature called pulse on pulse,The rest is history.
