aluminum with DC arc welder

How difficult is it to weld aluminum tubing with a DC arc welder? I have only a modest amount of welding experience. Also, what type of electrode, how much power, etc.

what are the specs of the aluminum tubing you want to weld (diameter, wall thickness, type of aluminum) ?

The diameter is approx 1 inch and the wall thickness is approx 1/8 inch. I didn't know there were diffent types.
