welding wire melts as soon as i pull trigger

I have a 210 wire welder bought three years ago and never used, tried to today but it melts the wire as soon as i try to weld, i have tried with gas ,with flux core nothing seems to matter.
i am not a n accomplish welder but i have owned other wire welders along with stick welders so i do have some knowledge.
what am i doing wrong or whats wrong with my 210?

Tell us all of your settings, polarity, wire size, contact tip size, material being welded; basically everything we could tell by looking at your machine. Pics would just be a bonus.
