starter soleniod

I have a Titan 7000 AC/DC SPEC.7142 1 gas welder Kolher engine, starter froze up. Got the starter freed and in the process I broke starter solenoid, the dealer here gives me the wrong part I think. This solenoid is grounded at terminal so no start unless I touch it with a hot wire. Checking the start switch it grounded when it's in momentry start. Help
