Hi All,
Been lurking for a couple weeks and really enjoy the board. I live in central Michigan with my wife and youngest daughter (13). My oldest daughter (19) is in the United States Navy I'm proud to say and is currently stationed in Pennsacola Florida.
When my dad passed away 10 years ago, I got his 110V Mig welder, a K-Arc 100 that was purchased at the LWS. I sturdied up some school lockers I picked up and welded little things here and there, but nothing major.
Then a couple weeks ago, a friend of a friend needed a little cash, so I picked up a HH175 in like new condition. If I was buying a new welder it would probably have been the HH210, but the price was right for the HH 175 and it is a big step up for me.
After reading the message boards, there are many projects I would like to attempt. I think I would like to make a little weld table as my current setup came with a cart. Is 1 in square tubing acceptable strength wise for carts, shelves etc? Then what gage for the table top or for a shelf? 1/4" plate is pretty expensive.
Lots and lots to learn, but I'm looking forward to it and I think I can find all kinds of help here on the message boards.
