  • EZ-Tig 165

I've noticed that the EZ-Tig 165 Tig welder is no longer on Hobart's website. Is this model being discontinued? I have also noticed that a multi-process welder has shown up. Alas it will not do AC Tig - no aluminum. The need to weld aluminum was why I bought a Tig welder, and right now Hobart has no machine that will Tig weld aluminum. Are there any plans to bring out a new Tig machine that will do aluminum? Variable parameters (instead of everything being preset) and 200 amps would be real nice. Hopefully my EZ-Tig 165 doesn't go down for quite a while.

The days of the EconoTIG are gone. My guess is Hobart will leave the competitive field of aluminum welding to the fancy machines in the Miller line.

Hobart now has them make their stuff, anyway. I bypassed the middle man and just bought my new plasma cutter directly from Harbor Freight. That said, HF has stepped UP their game.

I was looking at the fairly new HF Vulcan ProTIG 205. It does look like a pretty nice machine. The biggest question would be longevity and what if anything can be done when something malfunctions.

Hopefully my EZ-TIG 165 lasts me a long time.

The EZ-Tig 165 has been discontinued, some retailers do still have stock of the machine though. Our recommended replacement is going to be the Miller Diversion 180 for now.

But as always had Harbor Freight stepped up in supplying consumable and replacement parts for their new machines in past it was just easier to just replace machine than to try and get parts....

That's a very good question. I've been meaning to get into mine and find out exactly what replacement parts it might use, and where to get them. I'm hoping I might even get lucky and they purposely designed it to use someone else's existing consumables line. They have a line of tools that use DeWalt batteries now. They are getting smart and using the same Chinese factories that are also making the good stuff.

Product range and availability may change over time and it is possible that Hobart has already made changes to their welding machine lineup. By the way, online gaming is of great interest today, and I found information about best casinos to Play Multi-Line slots https://casinosanalyzer.ca/slots-online/multiline I think it is one of the best projects. If you are looking for information on whether the EZ-Tig 165 has been discontinued or if Hobart is planning to release a new TIG welder with the features you mentioned (AC TIG for aluminum, variable settings, and 200 amps), I recommend checking Hobart's official website or contacting customer service directly. They should have the most up-to-date information on the products offered and possible future releases.
