  • Simplified Arc

    Hello All;
    Just purchased a "Simplified" Arc Welder.
    Model: GHB 3183
    Serial No.: 12CW-5709 Spec 2335A

    Got the Ind. Chrysler 6 running, but no power to the welder or genny.
    Removed the bell and freed up the brushes. Now I can get a very small spark from the leads when I scratch the stinger by the ground but the gauges are still reading zero.
    Still have to clean the commentator but as this unit sat for a number of years I believe I need to"flash the field".
    Looking for a manual on this welder and when I go to the site this model isn't listed.
    Any info (field flashing procedure) and/or leads regarding this unit would be greatly appreciated.
    Though the engine is running smoothly it is my understanding it is a gas hog...oh well.
    Thanks in advance.

        Have you freed up the brushes on the other end? special attention to the hard to reach bottom one.
