  • Bottle/gas prices in MD

Anyone know of a good value of Baltimore/north of DC? I called GTS-Welso and they charge $161+ 6% tax for a 80cf bottle of 75/25, which includes 1st fill. Subsequent fills are $51 and $10 hazmat fee. There's gotta be a less expensive source in this area?

    that is a fair price.

I think the local chain wanted about $202 for an 80cf and the first fill. Refills about $40. Hazmat fee was $12.95. If you do not mind, try buying a 20# CO2. That will last along time. The welds may not be as pretty. CO2 is all I use at work. Home welding is usually CO2. If it's windy I use .030" or .035" fluxcore (Lincoln or Hobart).

I'm surprised refills are so much, and the hazmat fee certainly seems excessive...

        haz mat fee

Upon thinking this over, the Haz mat fee is $7.95. This is pure profit. Supposedly helps pay for compliance with government regulations. Watch out with the fees too. Some airgas were putting this fee on wire orders and other items over a certain amount. I do not buy anything from airgas. I have been buying small items from another local store and have not seen a haz mat fee. However, I have not purchased any gas from them yet.

I just bought the bottle today at Airgas- 80cf for $172 and the first fill (75/25) was $25 plus a $10 hazmat fee. I shopped around and couldn't find a less expensive alternative- the original deal I posted was no longer...

              cylinder refill

Try Roberts Oxygen Company. I have been dealing with them since 1973. They have always been helpful and there gas prices are reasonable.
