That machine in the Plasma section of it appears to be similar to the Miller ZipCut 40 plasma machine torch. I see the designation of 404040-I on that machine which would give each mode of operation 40amps in and 200amp out performance. That torch requires the third Hi Frequency connector like the older Hi frequency start machines. Amazon Carries a replacement torch that will work.

Hobart Tig Combo AC/DC. Having some issues with HF on both Tig and Cutting. The pilot arc terminal insulator that goes through the panel looks like its cracked. My Google search ability is sadly lacking. Any ideas for a replacement? I can make the hole in the panel larger if needed. Thanks

Make sure the orange (Pancake)isolation caps are not dried out. They isolate the frame from high frequency leaks from the Hi Frequency board. It appears that they are possibly working since the leak is being absorbed away from the front panel. Isolating the wiring crack with Silicone sealant would keep the frequency arc in the wiring, or and using heat shrink tubing over the wiring fix once the silicone is dry.

Thanks again martoli. I bought this one. Waiting for it. I can open up the hole in the panel if I have to. I cleaned and gapped the spark gap contacts. Did not take much to get them looking nice. I didn't see any visible signs of tracking but I really didn't know where to look. I'll take a good look through the manual tomorrow.

Well the ceramic insulator is kinda small. I turned a new one out of delrin. Filed out the anti rotation flat because thats where the old bakelite one cracked. Tig works great. Plasma torch is a little hard to start but then runs fine. Any ideas on why I need to scrub the torch against the work to get it to start? Its only been used about five times. Thanks.
