  • Please help, issues with cut master 52

Brand new starter cartridge because the last one arced out onto the electrode, the first test blip sounded terrible, and looked worse, took it apart, same thing, did some cutting anyways, cut okay at best, 10" of. 25" plate. Actually burnt a hole into the tip. I've cut plenty but never have to troubleshoot problems other than new consumables. Couldn't load pictures.

Is your machine still under warranty? Have you called Esab? Contacted a Service Center? (They seem to have 4 or 5 in almost every state).

Something sounds wrong with your torch consumables. Are you using TD name brand consumables for the SL 60 torch? Are all the O rings in good shape on the torch? Are you using the correct numbers matching parts that are listed on the machine? Is it assembled correctly with all the required parts?
the SL 60 torch is a solid design and works very well, as long as it's taken care of and has the correct parts in it.
