    I just bought this for 50 bucks. The pilot arc starts up but dies instantly, but the cutting arc does cut as long as it is in contact with the materiel. if anyone has ideas to as to how to correct this it would be welcomed.

      This is normal operation for this machine, and the pilot arc should be switched to the "expanded metal" position only when cutting same material. If you run the pilot arc continuously, you will decrease the life of your consumables.

      You got a great bargain! Now, download the manual and learn to use it!
