    It's an oxygen-acetylene cutting torch, stamped "No 17 L PATENTED 11-19-12"
I picked it up at a military surplus store, so I'm guessing its WWI era. I took it in to my teacher today and he said he'd never seen one like it. I've been wandering the internet for the past several hours trying to figure out who made it and if it's worth more than the $10 I paid for it. Do people collect old welding equipment?

That is truly an old one.

If he does not pop up on this thread, try sending a pm to Aerometalworker. He is really one of the more knowledgeable people where torches are concerned. I believe he also collects vintage torches.

Call it a rare antique, owned by George Washington and put it on ebay. You will be surprised what people collect
