  • HH190 breaker sizing

Hi, new to the forum. Am about to buy a HH190, and want to have what I need on hand to install new 240v run. It shows the "generator size" of like 5660 watts. A quick calculation gives me 5660 watts @ 240v = about 24 amps. So are you 190 users on a 30 amp 240 v breaker?

      This document on page 16....

      http://www.hobartwelders.com/om/6digit/o260273c_hob.pdf

States normal input at 20.5 amps and recommends a "normal" fuse at 30 amp.... So yes 30 amp circuit should be sufficient...

Document also state welder uses NEMA 6-50 plug/receptacle combination....

It can be used with breakers 30 to 50 provided the wire is 12 or better. They are designed to run on common welder circuits to 50A

A tailor made circuit for them is a 10/30. They run fine on a 12 but I figure a small machine needs all the help it can get and you can run a buzzer on the same wire with a breaker change if needed.
