  • what are the electrical requirements for a spoolrunner 100

I can't seem to find the actual voltage and amperage range required to make a spoolrunner 100 feed at a proper rate. Everyone seems to be using a miller sga 100, but it has to be a variable output DC transformer and it can't be the only thing in the world that works. has anybody ever put a meter on one of those boxes?

The Spoolrunner 100 is a 12Vdc rated motor. The SGA100 is an SCR regulated DC output that can put out up to 36Vdc.

      Thanks Kieth

Can I assume the motor speed is controlled by increasing the voltage and do you know how many watts it likes?

The voltage supply is variable from 1.7-18Vdc to the Spoolrunner 100. The transistor that drives these motors is a 10A/80V device.

          Thanks Keith

I think you just saved me $200. I'll let you know how it works out.
