The HH 210 is a current Hobart offering, and the IM 210 is a discontinued unit.

    Some differences would be:

    1. Largest spool of wire- 12" for IM 210. 8" for HH 210
    2. HH 210 comes spool gun ready
    3. HH 210 offers 7 output ranges. IM 210 offers 6 output ranges
    4. Both units contain the same wire drive assembly. The IM 210 wire drive motor is more robust though.

There really isn't much difference between the two in the areas of duty cycle and output power.

I haven't ran a IM 210. However, I still suspect the between the two, the HH 210 probably has the nicer arc and better weld puddle wet out.

My personal choice between the two, would be the HH 210.

MigMaster 250- Smooth arc with a good touch of softness to it. Good weld puddle wetout. Light spatter producer.
Ironman 230 - Soft arc with a touch of agressiveness to it. Very good weld puddle wet out. Light spatter producer.

Thank you. For the info. I could not find any information on the Ironman 210 on the website.

          Hh210

I had the same thoughts that you had I ended up buying handler 210 with free spoolgun from northern tool for 899.I couldnt find anything that the iron man could do that the HH210 couldnt. Iron man cost 550 dollars more and weighs 60 pounds more.I love my hobart purchase and I would never buy anything else. The hobart quality, price, and most important WARRANTY is the best in the business.

You want the HH210 for portability.

The IM IS spoolgun ready. Also 40% duty cycle which is a bit better than the HH 210- IM probably has better cooling due to the case volume and largeer fan. The IM fits a decently sized tank on-board for a all-in-1 albiet somewhat bulky unit. The built in casters make it a little less cumbersome as I just roll the whole deal, tank and all around. I love mine but it is a beast, LOL

Being the nerd I am, do you have any reasoning why that would be the case? Just curious...
