i can get a new lincoln 175 hd for 500.00 , would you get that or hold out for a mm or hh mig

I have a MIG PAK 15 ,that I got at Canadian Tire, which is very similar to the 175 hd. I've have it of four years now and have never had a problem with it. It is a 220 machine that does every thing I need. I prefer to use HOBART .030 E71T-11 over Lincoln wire though. Eventually, I'll get a bottle of CO2.

I'd hold out for at least a HH 187. The extra top end power (voltage and amperage) the 187 provides over the 175 amp Lincoln are beneficial for 1/4" solid wire applications. As well the extra output ranges of the HH 187 could be beneficial too.
MigMaster 250- Smooth arc with a good touch of softness to it. Good weld puddle wetout. Light spatter producer.
Ironman 230 - Soft arc with a touch of agressiveness to it. Very good weld puddle wet out. Light spatter producer.

Dan also mentioned in another thread that Tractor Supply has the HH187 for $600 w/free shipping.

I got my 175 HD brand new for $400 + $50 shipping. I'm no grand master weldor, but it is a mf'n smoking machine for what I paid. If you watch Ebay religiously, you can find them for that buy it now price and I've seen them with even cheaper shipping. They're usually gone within the first couple hours of being posted though.
