I was going thru the Manuel's on Miller web site and notice that they have posted a Millermatic 212 with auto set and variable voltage. I haven't seen one for sell yet. Maybe they will be out soon. It will be interesting to hear the reviews.

Scott, I only see mention of the Auto-set function for steel.
Looking at the electrical schematic, it looks like there is a good possiblity that the unit might have a softer style arc like the MM 251/252.MigMaster 250- Smooth arc with a good touch of softness to it. Good weld puddle wetout. Light spatter producer.
Ironman 230 - Soft arc with a touch of agressiveness to it. Very good weld puddle wet out. Light spatter producer.
PM 180C
HH 125 EZ - impressive little fluxcore only unit

My new Lincoln has a Synergic setting that seems like it and I am not real happy about that either. Oh well I guess I can use the 250 plus, for arc I like better.

I'am not sure about the auto set for aluminum either. On the MM 210 I had tap 4 was generally the highest tap I used for mild steel using .035 wire. I did use 4 and 5 with the spool gun and .030 4043 wire a few times. I hope the MM 212 with auto set doesn't have too soft a arc. I used my HH 210 today and was really happy with how the arc was using a small 2 lb. roll of .030 Forney wire I picked up for a $1.60. I'am still waiting to see a upgrade to the Ironman line.Steve W
