I would like to invest in a good set of Cobalt drill bits for hot and cold rolled steel up to 1/4" thick. Who makes a good set?

I have always found Irwin to be pretty good quality in cobalt alloys, at reasonable cost.

Irwin, Hertel or Triumph Twist Drill. I usually get mine from MSCDirect.com Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I'd recommend a set of bits that are either M35 or M42 cobalt drill bits. They'll last longer than high speed steel bits if you are doing a lot of metal drilling.

Hey Dale, do you sharpen by eye on a bench grinder or do you use something like a drill doctor?
