  • How do you pronounce Metabo?

How do you pronounce Metabo? Emphasis on the first syllable? The second syllable? The third syllable?
Santa presented me with a Metabo 5" angle grinder. I don't want to embarrass myself by mispronouncing its name.
Since it's manufactured in Germany, do I pronounce it in German?
Since I'm using it in the U.S, do I pronounce it in English?
    Is there a difference?
    Happy Holidays.

Stop trying to pronounce it, it is just a waste of time when you could be using it.......

If it really bothers you pass it on to me, I could use a new one as my 15 year old Craftsman is dying and I don't care how it is pronounced...

    Merry Christmas...

I've always heard "Meh-TA-bow." I do not assert that to be authoritative.

Dale, You have the right attitude.
Mac702, You have the pronunciation that I have heard most often.
I'll accept both of your kind advice.
        Thank you.

There shouldn't be an issue if you pronounce it in your own because no one will send you a legal notice you on its wrong pronunciation but still, it is most pronounced as "Meh-tta-boo"
