Model G-213 NEED HELP

The motor will only start with hand crank, Turns very slow with the push button start and, like it's not getting enough power to turn it over. Put 2 brand new Marine batteries on it and still won't crank any faster. Model is G-213. Serial # AAW-82389

I"M A ***, Had the batteries hooked up wrong. This thing makes one **** of a good weld.
