old hobart gas welder

I was just wondering if anyone know's about old Hobart gas welder's. I'm thing about buying one. It has a 2cly Wisconsin eng. Has 2 230 plugs and 4 120. the guy I'm buying it from say's there excellent welders and they last forever. Just wondering if anyone has any comments.

If its running now and runs well there isnt any reason it shouldn't run a good long time for the home/hobby/general use types. Takes a long time to wear out an engine drive machine.

Be aware though there's almost zero parts support for these older Hobarts. If it DOES break you may be up the creek.
