Hi there, the parameter chart included with the machine is intended to be a starting point, these settings will vary based on material cleanliness, joint preparation, joint configuration, and even brand of wire. The door chart also shows settings that are geared towards a fillet/T joint configuration. Typically when welding surfacing beads on material as thick as 3/16" you wouldn't need/want complete penetration or burn through on the back of the plate. If you would like to chat with a technical support specialist to do additional troubleshooting please give us a call at (800) 626-9420.

YOUR MACHINE is not doing what it states and your warranty dept is not fullfilling their warranty when your local clarksville TN "service dept" does not service...

Hello, we don't have an authorized service location in Clarksville, TN. Take a look at our service locator tool to see the authorized service locations in TN. If you have concerns about service, warranty, or equipment performance please reach out to our technical services line (800) 626-9420, or fill out our contact us form. When applying a surfacing weld to plate, complete penetration is not expected, nor is it typically desired. 3/16" plate would also typically require some level of joint preparation for a full penetration butt joint.

Thanks Hobart Expert for the comment about his "penetration" concern. I wanted to comment on it also but was waiting on others to chime in. I would like to know why He thought the weld should go all the way thru as I'm sure others would also.

Problem here is not with the welder its with the weldor, he does not understand the process and is pissed because the warranty did not transfer from original purchaser and he does not even read replies from Hobart Tech or anyone else.... If he would ditch the attitude, he might get some success.....

                    How about that "pumpkin"....
