Ever get to western Ohio or near SE Michigan? I am headed that way first of November, I would give it a good home. Hate to see something that nice sold for scrap.

While it is true that stick may not be out dated its often of no real need for most common garages with a mig. The fact that they are in auto related work even makes it more so. Unless there is some special need those machines collect dust. Even I would rarely use it and I got more bigger broke shate than most people. If I had any kind of real need would likely want a DC one anyway. I use a little stick mostly when its convenient or out the door but could easily get by with a feeder if its what I had.

Maybe for the automotive industry. But try migging outdoors with a breeze. I've done it, but you always seem to get a gust of wind right after you pull the trigger.

And fluxcore works, but do you really want to hook up the feeder for a small project. To me, it's easier to just pull the leads and use a stick. Stick welding will not be archaic or outdated, not in my lifetime.

Take it out and use it. Don't worry, you won't wear it out!

In that case it may just stick around a little bit longer

My grandfather had one like it . . . first welder I ever used. I have no idea where it is now.

Unfortunately the leads and the copper in it are probably worth more than the welder. Maybe $100. Location is everything.

Anyone have any idea on the value of this? Ground and work leads are complete and in good condition considering age.

I don't think that one has a rectifier, it's an AC only.

It is a nice clean machine, made by Miller IIRC.

It was my grandpa's then it sat for years in his garage. Then he gave it to my dad. It is now in storage. It has only burnt 1/2lb. of rod since we have had it.

Yup, that's what it is...looks like it is well cared for, too.
