Yeah, I saw it too. Don't know where it went, but the message seems worth repeating.

I searched and searched for that thread, but couldn't find it. It was posted about 1 month ago. Maybe someone else can find it on here.

Is that the 200$ machine? I had my reasons for getting a Maxstar but there are a lot of environments where I would consider that at that cost. That is really revolutionary in its own right. Being able to make decent weld with so little infrastructure especially limited amounts in repair maint or even light fab is a big deal, what an asset to the 3rd world type countries. Looks like it makes in excess of 90A which is kind of a threshold, lots of the worlds work can be done with a 1/8 6011.

Even a simple buzz box needed 10 wire and 35 A of current at 230, plus its heavy. I think that guy even ran 1/8 lo hi on it from a general outlet. My Max runs 6011 and 3/32 ho hi from 15A circuit no sweat.

I got the most amusement thinking how our hero probably owns a Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, or some other foreign vehicle. Plus his camera, TV, and computer are foreign made. None of it is the fault of that poor deceased welding machine, or the Chinese. The problem is the repressive business climate we have created in the USA. We've legislated, restricted, and priced ourselves out of the manufacturing business, which is what our economy was built on. That sledgehammer should have been used on a bunch of those rock heads in Washington DC.
