Some machinery opperates, under such incredibal strain
that the only reason it doesn't tare it's self appart, is that
"give" or "play" allows it to yeild just enough to bare-up
to the task.
Things like "end-play" "free-play" tensioners / delays / accumuators,
and on and on , flex in the members.....all help out.
Now we have cell-phones & interwebs, our every desire is at least identified
in minutes maybe seconds. The receptionist used to at least have to page
the cheif engineer, and wait for him to answer, then the customer would wait
for a call-back. Legal documents, and quotes, had to show up in the mail.
In 1958, Sunday still represented a rest-period, No open-pantrys ,
better not need gass at 4pm sunday afternoon.
I live by my cell and PC now too.
I think we're gonna die by em' as well.
Like a meteortite in the atmosphere.
