    Thanks

I got a Rain Check for Tractor Supply when they had the sale. Hopefully I will be getting my HH210 this week if they come in. Wish they would get the spool guns in stock.

A couple or words about direct hookup vs. control box use.

If you're going to use your regular gun for steel and the spool gun for aluminum, take into consideration that with the "direct connect" option when you need to switch guns, you'll have to re-spool the wire, disconnect the regular gun, connect the spool gun, disconnect the gas hose from the "steel welding" cylinder and connect it to argon cylinder (a quick disconnect will make it easier though).

A separate control box gives you an opportunity to have both guns permanently connected. The gas hoses may also remain connected at all times.

The 210 has a direct hookup for the spool gun.
The 187 needs the SGA 100 spool gun control to run a spool gun.

    Spool gun + more power--go with 210.

    No question about it. 210.

Go with the HH210, and don't look back. Either one will do the job, but there is no substitute for horsepower.

Cant make up my mind 187 or 210

I am not buying until after Christmas but trying to make my mind up between the two. I also will see what miller will be doing on the 211. I was thinking the 210 incase I want to do alloy as well as a little bit more juice, not to mention ready for the spool gun. I just dont know if its worth the $250.00 price tag difference. The 187 will probably do everything I want. I just dont want to wish I would have bought the 210 later. Maybe Tractor supply will extend the 10% to instore items which will close the gap.

As far as what its going to be used for.. That I dont know. I just want to get into the welding hobby. Who knows what project I might get myself into once I get better at it. I would also see my self doing mostly steel but SS and alloy projects as well.

Anyone out there have the 187 but wish they would have got the 210?
Working...
