Does anyone know anything about the Lincoln 215 mig welder. They have a new one in stock here for #1000.00?

If the Lincoln part number is K2326-1 it is a model that is being replaced by model k-2700-1.

      very good price.

and even if it is the older model, I would stil get it.
the newer one only has a the spool gun option built in. You can buy the older model, add the spool gun conector and gas valve, and still save money, over buying the newer model.
But if you want it for AL I would pass. I would get the MM252 and SG for AL.
But the PM 215 is great on MS. I liked it a little over the MM 210.

Is the Power Mig 215 being replaced by the 215XT or is the 215XT just another choice?

In the descriptions I see the original Power Mig 215 is described as 'industrial' and the 215XT says something akin to 'light duty'.

both are the power mig, the PM215xt is replacing the older model PM215.
I would call it more like light industrial. I have never had it to over heat and shut down in short acr or glob trans.
The only time I had it turn shut down due to being hot was after about 4-5 full mins of spray arc.

I dont know much about the PM215XT. I would imagine (this is just a guess) but it is more than likey the transformer is AL, and not CU. And a few more things maybe different, to save Lincoln Electric some money.
I would not sell my PM215, it has a better short arc than my MM350P. I use it mainly for 1/4" and thinner metal, and use the 350P for thicker metal that I can run in spray. I like the Pm215 because It runs 035 very well, the MM 210 (I cant speak for the 212 because I have never used one, but I would think it would be about the same) did not run the 035 as well. But the MM210 did run 030 within my liking. Also I like the arc start on the Lincoln better than the Miller.
So I tell most people that if you want to run 035 than get the Lincoln.

Thanks, I was just curious. Been saving pennies and nickles then saw the 215XT was cheaper $ wise with that subtle change in description and started thinking uh-oh. I may call the LWS Monday and see what they have to say. I definitely like to save bucks but not if it means getting a cheesier model. Worst case I may have to escalate my purchase.

I got my HH210 set up, but it has been too cold to use it. I don't have heat in my garage yet. I got it set up and working but haven't done any serious wellder.I happened to see that linclon 215 at the shop and he said it was a thousand dollars. It looked like a big nice machine. Just wondered about it.

                  Sandy,

Where are you finding these descriptions?

                  I can't find it on Lincoln's site.

Here's one location, weldingmart. Could be that's a big error on my part, eh? Shouldn't put too much into any description that doesn't come right straight from the manufacturer? I dunno.

I would not go by what weldingmart says.
The only thing I can see that is LIGHT DUTY, is the SG, the machine itself is not light duty but the cheap lincoln SG is. I have never liked Lincolns SG, and that why I said if you want to weld AL, then get the MM252 with their SG.
